Basketball Recap: Todd County Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Antavion Shemwell and Spencer Pool

Todd County Central lost against Hopkinsville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Todd County Central Rebels lost 70-47 to the Hopkinsville Tigers. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spencer Pool and Antavion Shemwell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Pool went 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points, while Shemwell went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Johnson, who posted four points and seven boards.

Todd County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-26. As for Hopkinsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Todd County Central will challenge Logan County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Logan County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Todd County Central likes a good challenge. Hopkinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
