Softball Recap: Marcellus Wildcats vs. Gobles Tigers

Marcellus extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They lost 12-4 to the Gobles Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 on Friday.

Makynna Harrison and Abby Tone did some serious damage despite the final result: Harrison went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Tone went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Tone's first of the season.

As for Gobles, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0. Considering they have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Gobles' side, Daisy Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Jackson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Makenna Hunt was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Rosie Bowman was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Marcellus is taking a road trip to square off against Lawrence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gobles, they will be playing at home against Constantine at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
