Basketball Game Preview: Vidalia Indians vs. Swainsboro Tigers

Two dominant guards in Hannah Nichols and Tonia Ricks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Vidalia Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Swainsboro Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vidalia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.

Last Friday, Vidalia was able to grind out a solid victory over Savannah Country Day, taking the game 56-46.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vidalia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tori Polke, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Takaiyah Bacon, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Vidalia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 55 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Swainsboro beat St. Vincent's 49-41 on Friday.

Vidalia pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Swainsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Vidalia beat Swainsboro 60-47 in their previous matchup on Thursday. Does Vidalia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Swainsboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
