Football Recap: Cedar Ridge Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Cedar Ridge had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 44-0 defeat at the hands of the East Chapel Hill Wildcats. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Even if they lost, Cedar Ridge's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. Landon Walker led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself.

East Chapel Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was A'Maree Evans out in front who rushed for 86 yards and three scores on only ten carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards. Leo George was another key signal caller, throwing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge will face off against Graham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Chapel Hill, they will take on Green Hope at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
