Basketball Recap: Evansville Central Bears vs. North Posey Vikings        
        
		
             After flying high against Princeton  last Saturday, Evansville Central came back down to earth. The Evansville Central Bears fell just short of the North Posey Vikings by a score of  62-59 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Bears have suffered  since January 3rd.
 When it comes to explaining why Evansville Central lost, don't look at  Madalynn Shirley. Despite the final result, she  dropped  a triple-double on 23 points, 14  rebounds,  and ten  blocks. The  match was  Shirley's seventh in a row with at least ten points.  Mya Skelton was another key player,  posting 11 points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals.
 North Posey's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ella Weatherholt, who  scored six points plus nine  rebounds and seven  assists. Those seven  assists gave  Weatherholt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Alyssa Heath, who  scored 14 points plus two  steals.
 Evansville Central's loss  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 5-2. As for North Posey, their victory was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-1.
 Evansville Central will venture away from home to  challenge Evansville Harrison  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Evansville Central knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Evansville Harrison likes a good challenge. As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boonville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
