Baseball Game Preview: Petaluma Trojans vs. Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons

The Petaluma Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Petaluma will be strutting in after a win while Archie Williams will be coming in after a loss.

Petaluma's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Analy with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Rowan Ball was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Deadman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Petaluma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Analy only posted an OBP of .143.

Meanwhile, Archie Williams unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 10-4 to Bishop O'Dowd on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Archie Williams saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Evans, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Joey Altman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Petaluma took their win against Archie Williams in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 10-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Petaluma since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
