Basketball Recap: Bloom-Carroll Find Success

If Bexley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bloom-Carroll, they should've done a better job of containing Whitney Passen. The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs walked away with a 43-34 win over the Bexley Lions on Tuesday thanks in part to Passen, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 21 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

Emma Sorrell was another key player, putting up seven points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Sorrell is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Bloom-Carroll's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bexley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloom-Carroll will challenge Liberty Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bexley, they will welcome Columbus Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bexley is facing Columbus Academy at the right time seeing as Columbus Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
