Softball Game Preview: Piggott Mohawks vs. Riverside Rebels

The Piggott Mohawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Riverside Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Piggott took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Corning, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Piggott sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over Corning two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Riverside was able to grind out a solid win over Decatur Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday, taking the game 11-6.

Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Piggott's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
