            Football Preview: Crockett Cougars vs. Pflugerville Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Crockett Cougars will head out to  square off against the Pflugerville Panthers  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Crockett has given up an average of 51.1  points per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Crockett duked it out with Elgin on Thursday. The Cougars were  outmatched by the Wildcats and fell  70-26.
 Despite their  loss, Crockett saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Roger Chargois, who rushed for 96 yards and two  TDs on only eight carries, was perhaps the best of all. Chargois also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending one pass.  Peter Cobos was another key rusher, rushing for 160 yards while picking up 9.4 yards per carry.
Meanwhile,  after a string of four wins, Pflugerville's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They had to suffer through  a    70-23 loss at the hands of Liberty Hill.
 Crockett will have to contain  Cole Taylor as he made an impact in Pflugerville's last game. He threw for 230 yards and three  touchdowns. Taylor has been hot, having  posted three or more  passing touchdowns the last six times he's  played.
 Crockett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pflugerville, their  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.
 Crockett was dealt a bruising  69-0 defeat at the hands of Pflugerville in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
