Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Norwalk Truckers

The Sandusky Blue Streaks will head out on the road to challenge the Norwalk Truckers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Sandusky focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.

Sandusky posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Columbian out 44-42. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but Sandusky was the better team in the second half.

Sandusky's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khiya Rameau led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Rameau pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ra'kiya Collier, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Norwalk has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. Their tough 56-33 loss to Bellevue on Saturday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Norwalk has scored all season.

Sandusky has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Sandusky came up short against Norwalk in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 46-38. Can Sandusky avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
