Baseball Recap: Muncy Comes Up Short

Muncy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bucktail on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 10-9. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bucks earlier this season, when they won 17-2.

Jameson Barlow made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbyn Gardner, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Muncy's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Bucktail, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Muncy will square off against rival Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bucktail is set to challenge their familiar foe Sugar Valley Rural at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
