The Minisink Valley Warriors will challenge the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Minisink Valley came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Kingston, falling 9-1. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Emily Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Minisink Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keira Filip, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Hannah Ringus also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Wallenpaupack Area entered their match against Valley View on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buckhorns lost 8-2 to the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Buckhorns have suffered since March 26, 2024.
Lucy Babyak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
This is the second loss in a row for Wallenpaupack Area and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Minisink Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Minisink Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Wallenpaupack Area struggles in that department as they've averaged .411. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Minisink Valley took their victory against Wallenpaupack Area in their previous matchup back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Buckhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
