Volleyball Recap: Sand Creek Takes a Loss

Sand Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Lutheran Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

While Sand Creek ultimately came up short, they really made Lutheran work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Sand Creek saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aiden Moss had ten digs.

Sand Creek's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sand Creek is set to face off against their familiar foe Mesa Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lutheran will square off against rival Cheyenne Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
