Softball Game Preview: Shadow Creek Sharks vs. Manvel Mavericks

The Shadow Creek Sharks are taking a road trip to square off against the Manvel Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shadow Creek easily dispatched Sam Rayburn on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Shadow Creek fell just short of Alvin by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Sharks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Manvel posted their closest win since February 18th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Pasadena Memorial 13-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Manvel considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Skylar Frederick was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Karsyn Carrier, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Manvel now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Shadow Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Shadow Creek beat Manvel 15-12 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shadow Creek since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
