Rocky Mountain Prep SMART hadn't done well against DSST: Cedar recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Ocelotls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Ocelotls: when they faced off against the Falcons back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 0-25, 0-25, 25-0, 15-13.

Esmeralda Gonzalez was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Gonzalez wasn't the only good servers: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matches.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's record now sits at 5-14. As for DSST: Cedar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART will take on Denver West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DSST: Cedar, they will challenge Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
