Softball Game Preview: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Tolland Eagles

The Manchester Red Hawks will take on the Tolland Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Manchester has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Manchester might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-3 to E.O. Smith/Tolland, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Tolland waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Catholic, sneaking past 3-1.

Tolland pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Manchester couldn't quite get it done against Tolland when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can the Red Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
