Basketball Game Preview: Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves vs. Sutherland Sailors

The Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves will take on the Sutherland Sailors in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maywood/Hayes Center is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Maywood/Hayes Center saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took down Dundy County-Stratton 44-29.

Maywood/Hayes Center relied on the efforts of Karissa Stengel, who posted 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Caylie Softley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Softley is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Blayklee Farr, who had seven points and six rebounds.

Maywood/Hayes Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Sutherland played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against South Platte, falling 43-22. The Sailors haven't had much luck with the Blue Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Sutherland's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
