Softball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

If Fairfield was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Gallatin County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mules lost 10-3 to the Carmi-White County Bulldogs on Thursday. The Mules have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Riley Isaacs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Smith, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Carmi-White County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

While Fairfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
