Basketball Recap: Florence Comes Up Short

Florence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the South Jones Braves, falling 65-32. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Braves are ranked eighth).

Florence's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for South Jones, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season.

Florence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Natchez at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Jones, they will square off against Provine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Jones will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
