Football Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Corry

Corry extended their home winning streak to four games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Blake Cook. The Beavers enjoyed a cozy 34-16 win over the North East Grape Pickers on Thursday with plenty of help from Cook, who picked up 215 receiving yards and two scores. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards.

Corry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gavin Greer, Cook, and Chris Bemis picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, North East still got an impressive performance from Bryson Galloway, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 164 yards and one TD.

Corry's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for North East, their record is now an identical 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corry will welcome Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Beavers will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North East, they will be playing at home against Girard at 1:00 p.m. on the 11th.
