Baseball Recap: Oceanside Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Francis Parker, Oceanside was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past Mission Vista 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Oceanside gave Benjamin Meyers the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Meyers also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Pirates are 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9-1 otherwise.

Oceanside's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10-1. As for Mission Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

Oceanside will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mission Vista: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
