Football Game Preview: Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane vs. Brantley County Herons + How To Watch

The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane will face off against the Brantley County Herons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fitzgerald and seven for Brantley County dating back to last season.

On Friday, Fitzgerald was just a hair shy of victory and fell 15-14 to Appling County.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Brantley County's offense. They were outmatched by Worth County and fell 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Herons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Rams are ranked 77th).

Fitzgerald now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Brantley County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Fitzgerald against Brantley County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 46-14 victory. Will the Purple Hurricane repeat their success, or do the Herons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
