Soccer Recap: Shannon Comes Up Short

Shannon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mooreville Troopers, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Shannon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Mooreville are ranked 50th).

Shannon's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Mooreville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shannon will host Amory at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mooreville, they will square off against Itawamba Agricultural at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mooreville's defense better be ready for this one: Itawamba Agricultural have averaged an impressive 4 goals per game this season.
