Basketball Game Preview: Snowflake Lobos vs. Ganado Hornets

The Snowflake Lobos will face off against the Ganado Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Snowflake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Monument Valley by a score of 59-51.

Meanwhile, Ganado earned a 76-69 victory over Valley Christian on Friday. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly seven points.

Snowflake better keep an eye on Faith James. She was instrumental in Ganado's win, on her way to 30 points and four steals. James has become a key player for Ganado: the team is 17-6 when she posts at least 15 points, but 2-4 otherwise. Shayli Walker was another key player, en route to 15 points and three steals.

Ganado was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Snowflake is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points over those games. Ganado's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-10.

Snowflake didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ganado in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory. Will Snowflake repeat their success, or does Ganado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
