League recap: Mulberry's Kolodziej delivers best pitching performance from past week

4A District 10 league recap: 3/27/13

Josh Kolodziej was the top pitcher in 4A District 10 this week, leading Mulberry. He retired seven batters this week.

Top honors in the league this week go to DeSoto County, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Bulldogs beat Lake Placid 4-3 and Bayshore 11-10.

DeSoto County's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 14 hits and 11 walks to lead the league in both categories.

The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Garrett Anderson, who hit .571 this week (4-for-7).

The Panthers' Kolodziej finished his week with six hits, the best slugger in the league. On the season, he's hitting .242 and ranks fifth in the league with 15 hits.



The Bulldogs' Donovan Day struck out ten Mulberry hitters en route to a 9-5 victory on March 19. Over six innings of work, he gave up four hits and five runs.
