Volleyball Recap: Indian Creek Starts Season with Victory Against Cascade

Indian Creek took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Cascade Cadets 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Indian Creek had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-18, 17-15.

Loss or not, Cascade got some senior leadership from Lacie Godby and Suzy Moore. Godby had 15 digs and two aces, while Moore had ten digs and three aces. Godby is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Creek will face off against Waldron at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cascade, they will square off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
