Basketball Recap: Ruskin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ruskin can now relate to. They lost 76-55 to the Summit Christian Academy Eagles on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Summit Christian Academy was led to victory by Max Rieger and Mike Thomas III. Rieger shot 58% from the field en route to 32 points and four steals, while Thomas III dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Rieger has scored at least a third of Summit Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Grady Ellerman, who posted eight points.

Ruskin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Summit Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Ruskin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summit Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-32 win against Grandview on the 7th.
