Softball Recap: Western Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Western waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Rossville Hornets. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Kylie Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brynley Erb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Western's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Rossville, they moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Western didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Tippecanoe Valley on the 12th. As for Rossville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Carroll on the 8th.
