Top-ranked sophomore DaJuan Wagner Jr. hopes to guide Panthers to first state title since 2000.

Camden (N.J.) begins the season at No. 11 in the MaxPreps Top 25 and as the team to beat from the Garden State, returning seven of its top eight scorers from last year's 16th-ranked squad.

Top-ranked sophomore DaJuan Wagner Jr. again guides a talented group favored to capture the school's first state championship since 1999-2000, when his father DaJuan Wagner Sr. was leading the charge.

Replacing the post production of Kentucky freshman Lance Ware will be a challenge, but the Panthers have a pair of 6-foot-7 senior forwards to anchor the paint in Taquan Woodley and Jerome Brewer Jr.

Sophomore guards Cian Medley, Cornelius Robinson and Sebastian Robinson will step into larger roles this season as this talented young group develops.

Coach Rick Brunson's group is set to take on a challenging national schedule, headlined by a trip to the Spalding Hoophall Classic where they will face No. 10 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) and Simeon (Chicago).
