Abbott was led to victory by Abby Neill, who turned in her biggest game of the season on Tuesday. Neill struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Thanks to that strong showing, she's now averaging 5.4 strikeouts per game. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Neill's strong effort led Abbott over Coolidge and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Abbott is a perfect 5-0 against Coolidge going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
