Softball Recap: Onalaska Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Onalaska won the last time they faced Holmen and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hilltoppers came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 5-1. Winning may never get old, but the Hilltoppers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Sydney Kraus 2028 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, MJ Heit 2028 was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Kylie Gilhausen 2026 also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Onalaska was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Onalaska pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Holmen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Coming up, Onalaska will host Arcadia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Holmen, they will venture away from home to take on Verona at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
