Basketball Game Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Park City Miners

After both having extra time off, the Orem Tigers and the Park City Miners will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Orem is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Spanish Fork last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Orem was outmatched by Spanish Fork and fell 61-23. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.

Meanwhile, Park City can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They walked away with a 42-33 win over Hillcrest. The contest marked the Miners' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Park City's win came from a few key players Orem will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dylan Radziukinas, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Johnson, who earned ten points.

Park City's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Orem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Orem was able to grind out a solid victory over Park City in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 38-30. Will Orem repeat their success, or does Park City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
