Baseball Game Preview: Greensburg Pirates vs. South Dearborn Knights

Greensburg hasn't had much luck against South Dearborn recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pirates will host the Knights at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greensburg 2.3, South Dearborn 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Greensburg didn't have quite enough to beat Jennings County and fell 7-5. The loss was the Pirates' first of the season.

Joey Everroad was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Ethan Smith was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Dearborn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Milan with a sharp 12-2 victory on Saturday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Having lost for the first time this season, Greensburg fell to 5-1. As for South Dearborn, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Greensburg skirted past South Dearborn 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
