Southwest has gone a perfect 7-0 against Brackenridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Dragons will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Southwest is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

On Monday, Southwest was able to grind out a solid win over Antonian Prep, taking the game 5-2.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Brackenridge nor Burbank made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 7-0. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Polendo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Deakon Cervantes was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. Brackenridge is undefeated when Cervantes posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Andres Gallegos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Southwest's record is now 27-2. As for Brackenridge, their record now sits at 14-11.

Southwest was able to grind out a solid victory over Brackenridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 3-0. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
