Recap: Downtown Doral Dolphins vs. JC Bermudez Doral Thunder
If the Downtown Doral Dolphins were riding high off their 71-47 takedown of the Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Downtown Doral fell to JC Bermudez Doral 76-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Wednesday (71), Downtown Doral still had to take the loss.
Several Dolphins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juan Diego Castro, who scored 19 points. Castro has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Sebastian Bueno was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Downtown Doral's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for JC Bermudez Doral, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Downtown Doral won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Academy for Innovative Education at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Academy for Innovative Education is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for JC Bermudez Doral, they will head out on the road to take on Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
