Basketball Game Preview: Copenhagen Golden Knights vs. McGraw Eagles

The Copenhagen Golden Knights will challenge the McGraw Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Copenhagen will be strutting in after a win while McGraw will be coming in after a loss.

Copenhagen is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Edwards-Knox to the tune of 68-36 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Golden Knights have posted since December 29, 2023.

Copenhagen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Lawlee led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Lawlee is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Jordal, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Copenhagen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, McGraw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 72-29 loss at the hands of Cortland. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

The win made it two in a row for Copenhagen and bumps their season record up to 2-5. As for McGraw, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
