The Wayne Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Wayne was able to grind out a solid win over Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer, taking the game 8-3. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Adrian Contreras and Jaxson Kneifl were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Contreras struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Kneifl tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Contreras has posted since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Contreras got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Kneifl went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Brodey Munter was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Wayne's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Endicott, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Mount Michael Benedictine and Plattsmouth, and Mount Michael Benedictine kept the tradition alive. The Knights put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-1 win last Monday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mount Michael Benedictine also got a great performance from Jamison Barry as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Mount Michael Benedictine let Ben Alessandro and Will Schieber run wild. Alessandro got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Schieber went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That triple was Alessandro's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Camden Cerone, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Wayne now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
