Volleyball Recap: Freedom's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Freedom's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Nazareth Area scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Freedom lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ayden Willman, who had seven kills, six digs, three aces, and two blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted seven or more kills the last 12 times he's played. Bailey Fleckenstein was another key player, getting 17 digs and two assists.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Nazareth Area, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Freedom will take on rival Northampton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nazareth Area is set to challenge their familiar foe Parkland at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
