Softball Game Preview: Portsmouth West Senators vs. East Carter Raiders

Portsmouth West has won five straight games at home, while East Carter has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Senators will welcome the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Portsmouth West narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Circleville 2-1.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times East Carter and Lewis County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 15 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

East Carter's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Portsmouth West, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
