Softball Game Preview: West Valley Mustangs vs. Perris Panthers

For the second straight game, West Valley will face off against Perris. West Valley will square off against Perris at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. West Valley will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

West Valley barely beat Perris the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. West Valley was the clear victor by a 20-10 margin over Perris on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

For Perris' part, Priscilla Diaz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Marjory Diaz also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Perris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Perris dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .458. However, it's not like Perris struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
