Basketball Recap: Christian Learning Center Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Adelyn Paranto and Holly Cain

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Mustangs on Thursday. The Christian Learning Center Mustangs fell 33-23 to the Heartland Mustangs. The match marked Christian Learning Center's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Christian Learning Center's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Holly Cain, who posted nine points and five rebounds, and Adelyn Paranto, who had nine points and four steals. Paranto is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Leading Heartland to victory were Kalei Hallam and Maddy Jones. Hallam dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards, while Jones earned eight points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hallam has scored at least a third of Heartland's points.

Christian Learning Center's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Heartland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.

Christian Learning Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-38 victory against Clinton Christian Academy on the 8th. As for Heartland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-35 defeat against Plaza Heights Christian Academy on the 8th.
