St. Anne-Pacelli waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Northside Patriots. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.

St. Anne-Pacelli had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-12, 15-10.

Malia Resnick paced St. Anne-Pacelli's offense, picking up ten kills. Resnick got some help from Anna Do and her 24 assists. Resnick was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

St. Anne-Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Northside, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-13.

Looking ahead, St. Anne-Pacelli will square off against Lee-Scott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Houston County at 5:15 p.m. on the 10th.
