Softball Recap: PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Find Success

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Rushville-Industry Rockets. The win continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won three in a row.

Mackenzie Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Miller was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubrey Vogel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Regan Heubner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rushville-Industry only posted an OBP of .172.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's record now sits at 7-9. As for Rushville-Industry, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
