Gloucester City had won three straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 9-4 to make it four. They had just enough and edged out the Delran Bears 2-0. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 9-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Delran, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 22, 2024.

For Delran's part, Olivia Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, Delran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Haskell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Coming up, Gloucester City is taking a road trip to challenge Audubon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.9, the Green Wave 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Delran, they will venture away from home to face off against Northern Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
