Football Recap: East Rankin Academy's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

The East Rankin Academy Patriots lost to the Starkville Academy Volunteers at home by a 28-13 margin on Friday. The loss was the Patriots' first of the season.

Despite the loss, East Rankin Academy still got an impressive performance from Brandon Loper, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of TDs. Loper's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

East Rankin Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ethan Butler and Taylor Woods.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Rankin Academy fell to 3-1. As for Starkville Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

East Rankin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-6 defeat against Lamar on the 19th. As for Starkville Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-7 victory against Bayou Academy on the 19th.
