Basketball Recap: Ransom Everglades Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ransom Everglades's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Marathon Dolphins 62-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Raiders have posted since November 21st.

Quinn Pegg was a one-man wrecking crew for Ransom Everglades as he went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pegg a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorgie Gomez, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points.

Despite the loss, Marathon still got an impressive performance from Briggs Roberts, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points.

Ransom Everglades moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Marathon, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Ransom Everglades didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-50 defeat against Palmer Trinity on the 20th. As for Marathon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-40 loss against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on the 20th.
