Volleyball Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades vs. North Central Knights
Chambers/Wheeler Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the North Central Knights. The Renegades were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20.
Paige Schlenger paced Chambers/Wheeler Central's offense, picking up three kills. Schlenger got some help from Braelynn Schlenger and her seven assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydney Hoffman, who had 17 assists and six digs. Hoffman is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Mya Lewis was another key player, getting nine kills and three blocks.
Chambers/Wheeler Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for North Central, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
Coincidentally, Chambers/Wheeler Central and North Central will both be playing Ainsworth the next time they take the court. The Renegades will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Knights will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
