Basketball Recap: Carson Comes Up Short

Carson and South Point squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Carson had to settle for second. They fell 59-50 to the Red Raiders. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

South Point's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Nyiah Bittle, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. Bittle has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Leen ElAsmar also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for South Point, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-15.

Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Point, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-31 loss against Oak Grove on the 26th.
