Softball Game Preview: Milton Panthers vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

The Milton Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Fort Walton Beach Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milton will be strutting in after a win while Fort Walton Beach will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Milton had just enough and edged out Crestview 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Milton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Gardner, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Gardner a new career-high in RBI (two).

Milton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Fort Walton Beach suffered their biggest defeat since February 21st on Wednesday. They came up short against Mosinee, falling 20-6.

Fort Walton Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Milton, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-6.

Milton might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Fort Walton Beach when the teams last played back in February. Can Milton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
