Softball Game Preview: Enloe Eagles vs. Broughton Capitals

For the second straight game, Enloe will face off against Broughton. The Eagles will take on the Capitals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Enloe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Enloe's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Broughton by a score of 5-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Capitals: they've now won six in a row.

Not much got past Avery Modlin, who gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Broughton off the board. Modlin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Enloe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Watson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Enloe's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Broughton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Enloe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Broughton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts.
